Dr. Marisa Mauro

LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST

It is my goal to provide reliable assessments and defensible opinions in a way that is understandable and relatable.

Forensic psychology allows me to combine my interests in psychology, law, and the general human experience with my love for problem-solving and learning about others. Although attorneys and courts are my clients, I work very closely with people who have found themselves in challenging legal situations and often feel distrustful of the system. A great forensic interview requires good rapport between the examiner and examinee, and I rarely encounter a person I cannot talk with or interview for hours.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my three energetic and personality-filled young boys. I am a dedicated vegetarian of nearly 30 years and am so proud that veggie burgers and roasted Brussels sprouts are tops on my kids’ favorite foods lists. My day cannot start without coffee and Peloton workouts. I’m a big fan of Audible, historical fiction, interior design, and any transformation story. My family and I call Austin home, but I am originally from Western New York, where I grew up in a small rural town eating excellent Italian food and pizza and never heard of forensic psychology.
